Chicken Bone Broth Brunch

Some meals don’t start as recipes.

They simply become part of everyday life.

This chicken bone broth brunch started as a way to make a warm, high-protein meal using simple ingredients we already had at home. Over time it slowly became one of those meals we kept coming back to, comforting, filling, simple to prepare, and easy to enjoy any time of day.

It’s not fancy.

It’s just real food made slowly.

The base is homemade chicken bone broth simmered with chicken, vegetables, garlic, herbs, and turmeric until rich and full of flavour. Once chilled, the broth sets firm like jelly from the natural gelatin released during cooking.

For brunch, we gently heat the soup and poach eggs directly into the broth instead of using a separate pot of water.

The eggs become soft and creamy while adding extra richness to the soup.

Served with buttered sourdough, it’s one of those meals that feels simple but satisfying at the same time.
