The Story Behind Healing Season

Every business has a story.

Healing Season began with a simple desire to create a healthier, more intentional way of living for our family.

Like many people, we found ourselves questioning the products we were using every day. We wanted to understand the ingredients in our food, the products we used on our skin and the items we brought into our home.

The more we learned, the more we became interested in traditional ingredients, simple formulations and practical skills that had been used for generations.

What started as curiosity soon became a passion.

Discovering Traditional Living

As we explored healthier alternatives, we found ourselves drawn to traditional ways of doing things.

We began learning about:

Handmade soap making

Homemade products
Cooking from scratch
Traditional skills and crafts
Simpler ways of living

Rather than constantly searching for the newest trend, we found ourselves looking back at methods that had stood the test of time.

Many of the old ways simply made sense.

Falling in Love With Tallow

One ingredient stood out above all others.

Tallow.

At first, it was simply something we wanted to learn more about.

The deeper we researched, the more fascinated we became by its history and versatility.

For generations, families used tallow throughout the home.

It was used in:

Candle making
Household products

It was practical, useful and widely valued.

The more we worked with tallow, the more we appreciated its simplicity and effectiveness.

Before long, it became the foundation of many of the products we were making ourselves.

From Hobby to Business

What began as making products for our own family slowly grew into something more.

Friends and family became interested in the products we were creating.

Questions turned into conversations.

Conversations turned into requests.

And before long, Healing Season began to take shape.

We realised there were many people looking for products made with simple ingredients and traditional methods, but often found them expensive or difficult to access.

We wanted to change that.
